Dry August: a warm sunny Saturday cooled by a welcome breeze!
Fifteen Friends of the Park turned up so we managed to tidy, weed and deadhead the flowerbeds and mass water all of the most tender plants.
The beds were beautifully edged and all the park bench paving stones neatly weeded.
We had noticed that the band room hedges needed trimming and the lawn cutting too so a doughty trio achieved both these tasks.
At 11am we joined in the short VJ80 commemoration around the war memorial.
All in all , a most successful day!
